It was odd how many times he incorrectly quoted the line as "Ask not what you can do for your country..." Even when breaking down the meaning of each word for the duration of the episode, he took them in that order, which of course is the exact opposite of the actual quote.
The voice you came up with for the epenthetic-R examples sounds so much like actor Jonathan Banks (especially in his current TV role as Mike Ehrmantraut).

Also, thinking of added R's there is a famous basketball announcer who always called the player Rajah Bell Roger. I always wondered if he thought everyone else was dropping an R and he was correcting them by adding it back.
